Blackberry Internet Browser?

I just got a blackberry 8830 from Sprint and got the data plan with it. Should a internet browser be included with the phone or do you gotta download one (for example opera mini)? Thanks for your help.

I've only ever worked with GSM BlackBerrys, but I'm sure it's pretty much the same on Sprint, so here goes:

As soon as your BlackBerry establishes its first connection to the data network, it will register itself and the network will send down a whole bunch of new programs to the BlackBerry. They will all show up as new icons, and one of them will likely be a globe icon called "Browser." You should also get another one called "WAP Browser." You'll probably get a bunch more, like "Email Settings" "Yahoo! Messenger" "Google Talk" and so on, but if you haven't gotten any of these, then it means either you haven't established a connection to the data network, or the automatic registration that was supposed to happen did not happen.

What we'll try to do now is register your BlackBerry manually on the data network. If it tells us it can't find a data network, we'll know it hasn't yet connected. If it says it was able to register successfully, then all the new icons should start coming down.

Now, the following instructions make sense on a GSM BlackBerry and I assume it's the same on yours. If you can't find something I'm telling you to look for it means that your BlackBerry is different than the ones I'm used to supporting, so either someone else on here will be able to help you or you'll need to call the Sprint tech support folks. With that said, let's get to it!

Scroll down and click on the "Options" icon (the one that looks like a wrench). Now go to "Advanced Options" and choose "Host Routing Table." If it says something about "no entries" or if there is nothing there, that means that it doesn't have a connection to the data network. If that is the case, remove the battery and put it back in. Once it comes back on, wait for the blue arrows in the top right corner to disappear and then go back to the Host Routing Table. If nothing has changed, you'll need to call Sprint because they probably forgot to put the data plan on the account or they put the wrong data plan on your account.

What you'll want to see when you go to the Host Routing Table is multiple entries that probably contain the word Sprint. In any case, if you see lines of anything that's a good thing. So scroll down to one of those entries and press the menu key (the key with all the dots on it to the left of the trackball). From the menu, choose "Register Now." It should come up with a message saying "Registration Message Sent." If it does, that means it has manually registered on the data network, and it should be sending down your browser right now! You should also get a registration message in your "Messages" folder/icon. At this point, if you still don't have any new icons or if you came across something I didn't tell you about, try pulling out the battery and putting it back in. Then repeat what we just did before and see if the same problem crops up. If it does, you'll need to call Sprint. But if it doesn't, then that means we did it! Enjoy your BlackBerry and the joy of browsing!

Hope this helps!

I think a internet browser should be included with a phone.
