Why does my Blackberry 7230 randomly reset itself?

I recently purchased a Blackberry 7230 for T-Mobile from eBay. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I switched my service to allow internet connections, but the IT policy from the previous owner prevented opera mini from accessing the web. So, I looked up some information and found that I needed to install John Clark's blank IT policy (the procedure is outlined on www.blackberryforums.com, I forget exactly where). I installed Opera Mini 4 by converting the jad and jar files into the application loader files used by the desktop manager software. Like I said, I'm not sure if any of that information is relevant. Now, when I am using the device, it will randomly reset itself just as if I had pressed alt+right shift+del to do a soft reset. Very frustrating. Other times the screen will shut off for a few moments and then turn back on. How do I make it stop doing this? Please help!

More info:

v4.0.0.815

platform 1.6.1.48

file free=2.4mb

file total=13mb

I can other information if needed.

It does sound like a hardware issue. I wonder if that is why the person on eBay was selling it.

You might try a different battery but if that doesn't work it sounds as though the hardware might be bad.

I suggest you go to the Tmobile website and reload the device software. It appears to have gone corrupt. The trick is you will need to have a TMobile phone number to get to the download site. Instructions on how to reload the software are on the TMO website.
